The brief

Gasonic was asked to install a contingency mains water feed at Kent Police’s Thames Way premises. The connection was intended to provide a temporary back-up in the event of plant equipment failure.

Our approach

Our team planned the installation to keep disruption to normal building use to a minimum. Final connections were completed out of hours.

The arrangement included a pressure reducing valve, a non-return valve, isolation valves and a removable flanged section. The removable section allows the contingency pipe to be removed for maintenance and testing.

What we delivered

  • Contingency mains water pipework
  • Pressure reducing and non-return valves
  • Isolation valves
  • Removable flanged section
  • Handover and training for the resident facilities team

The result

A dedicated contingency connection with an operational handover. The facilities team was shown how the temporary provision was intended to be used when required.
